Customer Class

Customer classes are assigned to customers and represent the business segments of your customer base, including inter-company (i.e., restaurant, wholesaler, distributor, food service, retail, etc.). Classes are used to group like customers together (full mark-up vs. less than full mark-up) for sales reporting in margin reports.

Customer Class Fields
Customer Class ID A unique two character alphanumeric ID code used to identify the customer class.
Customer Class Name The customer class name.
Gross Margin above the Line
Specify whether the gross margin is above or below the line. If set to Y (Y=yes), the customer class will be included as regular sales (above the line) on the various gross margin reports. If set to N (N=no), the customer class will be reported as a separate section (below the line) on the various gross margin reports. Examples of "below the line" classes would be inter-company groups, customers sold at cost, or customer classes that have a unique margin that needs to be reported separately on the various gross margin reports.
